Musings don't know number how many

Am I up to it? Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Anyway, it's been a great relief for me to know that Chinese New Year is just round the corner. It's an even greater relief that swim pe will be over come end of this week. However, it's become an even greater worry for me since the school, more specifically the discipline committee or d-comm for short has officially announced its intention to conduct a random attire check in the near future. My my sounds like they're bidding for the IR or something. But anyway, the prospect of an attire check will make life much more exciting now. Imagine constantly having to flatten your hair, tuck in your shirts, wear the correct shoes, etc. Sounds like great fun to me. That's about all that's happening in school now. Oh yes, the Valentine's Day flower delivery service! Before I forget. It seems that the junior colleges in Singapore have all come together to celebrate Valentine's Day. How nice. And they're going to go about it by having some inter jc flower delivery service. Imagine how exciting that would be! We could spam flowers and have it delivered to every Tom, Dick and Harry. Alas, the flowers aren't free and come at a fee of 4 bucks if I'm not wrong. Suckers. 4 bucks just to spam flowers? Hell I might as well chop a tree and deliver it myself. But flowers aside, what I found interesting was that not all the JCs were participating in this hare brained scheme. Raffles, HCI and if I'm not wrong SA (seems like SA is smart too eh?) have declined to be a part of this cheat the students of their money conspiracy. But then Valentine's Day has always been a cheat your money day ever since money came about. I digress. So, what happens if I want to deliver flowers to those JCs? Then how? Do I have to use Fedex? Then it would be Fedex, 3 rest of JCs 0. We live to deliver. Ahh, I think I am going mad. Because I for one would never ever pay to deliver flowers. Much less pay a bunch of councilors. Never. Ok enough talking here. It's time for me to go and sleep. And find out what happens tomorrow. Sucks.

Bored

It's amazing how I would rather rot away all evening in front of the computer doing stupid things like this instead of picking up my notes and studying something, well in this case everything since I haven't started on anything - The vices of the media which is coincidentally the GP topic for the half term. However this is not an addiction per se. Rather it just reflects how repulsive school work must be. And imo doing benzenes and SHM all night isn't my idea of fun. And SHM isn't some variant of FHM for those lucky bastards not taking Physics. From what I've gathered during the lectures, SHM is yet another nonsensical Physics theory used to explain something which doesn't really need explaining and which 90% of the world’s population would not care for just like what Physics has been for the whole of last year. I digress. Anyway, I do not know what I'm doing here but I shall just continue typing until I tire and then it's time to sleep after a fruitful evening’s work.

So what's new? Well I really do not know. So I shall just have to go on typing till I tire. And that wouldn't be too hard would it. Just typing and typing and typing. Very soon I'd get bored of typing then I would publish this post then I would go to bed. And I think that would be soon. So in the mean time I shall just have to continue typing. And as I'm typing this it's becoming more and more like my "nothing" entry which I wrote during compulsory journal writing in lower secondary. And I bet it must have been the most famous journal entry ever written given that it was circulated all over the staffroom with the page folded and the word "Best!" scrawled on the top of the page in red obviously by whoever must have been my English teacher then. On top of that, I still had to re do that journal entry because writing about nothing was plain unacceptable. But why not? Given that my entry about nothing was far more substantial than some of classmate's entries about something. See, nothing is just like another Physics concept. It cannot be defined properly in words and must be represented in the form of squiggly lines and dx/dy. It really is very strange that I spend half my JC life looking at squiggly lines and writing grammatically wrong statements. And so here I go on typing and typing. By now you must be bored to shit and probably think I'm crazy. Well I think so too. The bored part I mean. But I must continue typing because I'm not tired yet and if I stop typing I'll have nothing to do. And when that happens I might just glance over at the stack of files atop my bag and feel guilty bout all the stress that I'll be putting my teachers through tomorrow. But it is not my fault is it not? If the teachers did not give me work which I would not do and which they would get pissed at me for then knowing the consequence of giving me the work why do they still bother giving me the work knowing full well the consequence of doing so and the inevitability of it happening. Ah the eccentricities of life just like Physics and Economics and Maths and Chemistry. Well that's all my subjects that I've listed here right. Great. Seems I don't really like school much. Surprise surprise. Ok I am getting tired of typing guess it's time to call it a day and go to sleep. Bye bye.

2nd post of '07 school year

One week of school has past and well that's one week closer to graduating? Yea. Anyway this has been a most wet start to the year but that don't seem to dampen the mood for anyone given that orientations all around ended well, the J1s didn't die and the As are still here. Damn the As and damn the J1s too. You see where I am studying the J1s are a weird bunch imo. Unlike previous batches of J1s, this batch has some sort of perverse mind. They enjoy going to the library! But of course since all they do is go there get on a sofa and sleep thereby denying me my rest. Seriously, these J1s do actually study and do whatever work they have or maybe finishing leftover A Maths papers or something. Lol. In fact I think they're studying more than me! Ah well, the bright eyed innocence of J1s. They think work is fun and having mass rallies is the greatest thing that happened in their lives. Not. Anyway, I'll just leave them to their stuff and see what they make out of it come JAE. Just make sure that whatever you do, your first 3 choices for JCs better be near your house.
Recently, more precisely round a week or so ago, the news of a blog - wearemean.blogspot.com, hit the headlines. So I went to check it out. But sadly they took down the stuff. Then I tried googling it for the archives. But those smarties offed the google function. Damn. But judging from what I've read, the blog owners some keyla and lesli or something like that certainly have no qualms flaming people online. But they're probably ball less or something cos now they've gone all quiet and are even removing comments left by readers. So, I'd encourage everyone to go to their space, once again wearemean.blogspot.com and drop a comment or two. Hopefully they wouldn't delete yours. Oh and do go to 0xymoronic.blogspot.com too. He's the guy who complained bout the wearemean people to the ST. I don't know why you should go to his blog but just go there and drop a comment too. Lol. I seem to be in a drop a comment mood. So now off I go to go drop some comments aka spam. Heh now you know what I'm getting at.

1st post of the school year 2007

It's been 3 days of school and I must say that things have changed quite a bit. Firstly, my class lost 3 members but gained 1 back. Not sure if it's good, bad or otherwise but shan't comment here anyway. And we've changed teachers. Apparently, all the classes I'm in are below college average. Lol. So the school decided to get us other teachers. And the implications? That our previous teachers weren't up to scratch? Or my classes are all plain screwed up. Whatever it is new teachers makes the New Year more exciting. And not forgetting the PAE people. How can I forget them? I was just like them a year ago; but in a different JC. Ahaahahaha. Well well what's there to say? Enjoy your time here and get out at JAE? Depends on them I guess but as someone once said, ac is an acquired taste. True. I haven't acquired the taste (don't think I ever will) but at least it doesn't leave a bitter feeling behind now.

1st '07 Post

Well well what can I say? Happy New Year! At long last I am finally going to be able to stop studying in 11 months time. And I really don't know if I'll ever pick up a textbook after that. But that remains to be seen. Right now, I believe it's highly appropriate for me to make my New Year resolutions like every other self righteous human being will be doing. And contrary to last year's resolution of not making another set this year, what the hell I'm just going to have to break one more resolution. So here's my New Year resolutions after yet another year of muddling around not making any headway but not exactly lost either.
New Year Resolutions
1. I will finish my final year in ac peacefully and try to graduate on a happy note.
2. I will try not to miss my lectures except under exceptional conditions.
- The lecture venue is too far away.
- The lecture is right after lunch.
- Going for the lecture just doesn’t feel right.
3. I will start working on my TYS and find those missing tutorials.
Well I'll leave it at 3 for now. When I can think of more then I'll add it. For now, just enjoy your hols and the first week of school which I find is generally even more unproductive than the hols.

Santa

Here we are now finally reaching the end of the 2 month well 3 months if you discount the post promos activities. So these holidays have been no different from last years 'cept that I've been having this nagging worry about something. Ah yes, school work. Simply because last year this time I didn't have any school to go to! Well what wouldn't I give to be "school - less" again? Anyway, Christmas is coming up this week. For the Christians, Merry Christmas and for everyone else, Seasons Greetings. Now, what the hell is Seasons Greetings? Christmas isn't exactly in between any 2 seasons but then since we're in Singapore and we only have one bloody season guess it don't really matter. But why Seasons Greetings I don't know, that's a question for the Gah men.
So, since Christmas is coming, guess it's time to write our letters to whom else? Santa Claus of course! It's really important to write to Santa else he might just forget your presents.

Dear Santa,
This year has been like every other year and I know it and you know it. Why? Cos I've been bad as usual and this probably explains why I haven't received a single present from you for the past seventeen years. You're really mean ya know Santa. Sure I've been a little evil and stuff but so has everyone else right? But you never ever gave me anything. Not even a reindeer. Damn you. But I'll get to that later Santa. Now I've something more pressing to discuss with you.
Recently, I've seen many videos of you behaving badly too. And it must have been real BAD Santa cos the videos had NSFW ratings. That's not suitable for work for the uninitiated meaning ahem highly inappropriate content. On top of that there've been news reports of you making rude comments to shoppers. See here. What do you have to say for yourself Santa? You jolly old hypocrite.
Now Santa I gotta ask you why are you always dressed in red, growing a beard and riding on reindeers? You're known as Father Christmas but Jesus didn't wear red, didn't have a beard and the best he rode on was a donkey. Thus Santa I think you’re one big fake and that's why I never receive any presents from you. Of course feel free to prove me wrong. And don't justify the lack of presents with my behavior cos you've been bad too Santa. So lean over and let me spank you, you bastard.
Merry Christmas and enjoy your hols Santa!

Yours Sincerely,
Nofing

I'm sure Santa has advanced with the times so he probably has a MacBook powered by a quad core Intel chip and of course WiFi connection, 802.11n no less so he'll be able to read my letter too. Alright, that's enough for now Merry Christmas everyone and don't forget to do your holiday homework!

Musings

Today I'm going to talk about two issues close to our hearts and no, one of them isn't Britney Spears night out "commando" style with fellow "comrade" Paris. Though that's one topic worth a second look (don't mind the pun) but anyway that's a topic best left to one's interpretation and imagination. Still I must add my two cents worth. Sure Britney could go party the life out of her but going without undies and claiming she's enjoying her freedom? I wonder what she's trying to imply. You mean K Fed(ex) chained her panties or something? Again it's just speculation on my part so do take everything I say here with a pinch of salt.
Now onto issue number one - violent teachers in schools. Yea for those who've been reading the papers, there's been a recent flurry of letters to the forums about abusive teachers. Having read most of these letters, I'm compelled to believe that from the 1970s to now, the MOE must have been hiring part time psycho - killers to teach our students. Of course, that is wrong. They've been hiring full time professional psycho - killers! Lol. Seriously, are our teachers that bad? Yes I've met my fair share of bad teachers and the horror stories I shall gladly recount in a while but I say we give these teachers a break. Quit complaining to the forums cos if your teachers were as bad as you made them out to be, you wouldn't even have graduated from school much less write these silly letters. Whatever it is, it's in the past and if you had wanted redress it should have been settled then. Didn't dare to seek redress or couldn't? Too bad. Ahahaha. I've had bad teachers and I sure as hell sought my own redress so if I can do it, it can't be that hard.
Anyway, I must start on my teacher horror stories now before I forgot all the little exaggerations I added to them.
Horror story #1
I remember in my primary school, I had this Chinese teacher in P6. Sure I wasn't a model student (never wanted to, never was and never will be ) but I still did hand up some of my work and pass the spelling tests. But somehow he still didn't like me much. And about a month before the prelims the bugger told me and my class most gleefully that I wouldn't make it to secondary school. Imagine how I felt then. A little kid with my fragile self esteem and my dearest teacher whom I respected so much told me I couldn't make it to secondary school? Well, in the words of Dave Chappelle, "Kiss my ass bitch". So after that incident, I never did hand up any more work, turned all his lessons into a war game with my friends and I shooting paper pellets all over and making a helluva noise. And then after the PSLE when I got my results which were rather ok I went up to him and said "kiss my ass bitch". Ok I made that last bit up but it's still rather mean of a teacher to condemn a small kid like that. Oh and for those who don't know who Chappelle is, do go and check him out.
Horror story #2
This happened in P1 again with my Chinese teacher. (Now you know why I don't have a strong inclination towards Chinese) Back then the teachers were indeed more violent and there were many occasions when my fellow classmates and I had to kneel on the dirty floor, stick out our hands and get our knuckles rapped. Damn, I thought I was a student not a Prisoner of War. Alas the teacher thought otherwise. Also I had me books torn and thrown about so yea that much is true about teachers back then.
There's a hell lot more shit that happened in secondary school but since I've gotten bored with recounting these tales I shall leave them for another time.
Now I must talk about the other issue. That of manners of the lack of it in community libraries. Having read the report in the Sunday Times and the comments made by people caught in the act be it sticking their feet everywhere, digging their ears etc, I'm really astonished by the behavior of us Singaporeans. It was so ridiculous I thought it was a joke. Especially this comment by a guy whose name I've forgotten but it's in the papers anyway and he has this to say about his behavior, "If you don't like it build another place for yourself." What the hell man. Some people really think no one reads the papers or something. Anyway point is Singapore is still a free country and granted it's not unlawful to stick your feet up or shave yourself but do please have some restrain man. And no taking off your foot ware don't mean you're not dirtying the chair and thereby showing consideration for others. Might as well say I piss on your hand and that's cool 'cos I ain't pissing all over the floor.
